EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR) is looking for a seasoned Analyst IV to join the Innovation, Strategy, and Delivery (ISD) division. This position serves as a vital bridge between business units and development teams, ensuring that technology platforms and solutions effectively meet the needs of the Department and its stakeholders.As a Work Leader within the TAM (TAX Application Management) team, you will not only perform high-level business analysis but also guide day-to-day operations, distribute workloads, and provide subject matter expertise to fellow team members.What You’ll Do: Lead Team Operations: Serve as a work leader by making assignments, distributing workloads, and leading the day-to-day operations of the application management team.Bridge Business and Technology: Act as a critical interface between DOR business units and development teams to design and implement platform changes that meet stakeholder needs.Gather Complex Requirements: Elicit and document detailed business requirements through open-ended discussions, brainstorming, and prototyping.Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Develop meaningful, lasting relationships with partners across business units (e.g., business tax, gaming, compliance) to optimize system integration.Translate Needs for Developers: Convert gathered business requirements into technical requirements for developers using Agile/Scrum Software Development processes.Execute Quality Assurance: Design, validate, and execute detailed unit, user acceptance, and regression test plans to ensure solutions meet established acceptance criteria.Provide Expert Consultation: Offer guidance on complex process improvements and technical solutions, applying broad subject matter expertise to resolve core problems.Draft Strategic Communications: Produce regular status reports, timelines, and graphics to communicate project expectations, risks, and progress to executive leadership.Monitor Project Deliverables: Create and implement management plans for assigned projects, ensuring timely completion and the management of competing resources.Coach Team Members: Provide advice and assistance on work techniques and best practices to other Business Analysts while coaching on performance or training issues.
