HOW YOU'LL HELP US KEEP CLIMBING (OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)

As a member of the Latin Carrier Insights team, you will be a key voice in developing Latin entity-wide pricing initiatives, shaping Delta responses to competitor pricing actions in the scope, and consulting on our flow market pricing strategies (default structure, premiums, floors, routings) through knowledge of our competitor’s pricing behaviors/Delta’s competitive advantages. This is a unique role within Delta’s Pricing & Revenue Management department that will require both technical skills and business acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze large and complex pricing/commercial data sets, leveraging SQL and/or other data pulling resources, to:
    • Be an expert of competitor airline pricing strategies as well as revenue/share performance, contextualizing insights for the broader Latin Revenue Management team and recommending appropriate competitive actions and/or opportunity guidance
    • Provide insights from monitoring competitor fare and rule changes to foreshadow network changes, financial performance, or strategic policy changes
    • Identify and analyze competitor changes to the pricing environment by determining the scope and impact to Delta’s price competitiveness and recommend/implement appropriate pricing adjustment
    • Recommend, initiate, monitor, and communicate Delta competitive pricing actions including changes to fare levels, fare rules, and policies
    • Advise on optimal Delta default fare structure, floor, and pricing premium levels in flow markets
  • Ensure Delta’s pricing is on strategy and accurate through timely updates of tools and confirmed through shopping

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Working knowledge of SQL or other coding language
  • Experience with market data analysis and a thorough understanding of pricing segmentation concepts
  • Demonstrated passion for the airline industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of an interdependent team and set priorities based on revenue impact all in a time sensitive environment
  • Detail-oriented, analytical ability and strong oral/written communication skills
  • Flexibility responding to unexpected situations and a desire to learn is critical for success
