How will you make an impact in this role?

  • The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) organization is responsible for managing relationships with millions of Merchants and Partners around the world that facilitate American Express acceptance and enabling the day-to-day operations of our company’s payment network.
  • The role of the Global Merchant & Network Pricing (GMNP) team is to design and implement global pricing strategies that support our coverage objectives and optimize our Discount Revenue. This revenue stream is the single largest source of American Express’ revenue and Merchant Pricing strategies play a key role in driving financial performance.
  • This role is part of the Pricing Infrastructure & Process Oversight team which enables pricing agility, compliance, and operational excellence through platform management, governance and a dedicated Center of Excellence team.

Key Responsibilities

The Analyst – Risk Management is responsible for:

  • Partner with Regional Pricing teams and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable controls, requirements, and standards

  • Support internal and external audit processes by collecting sample files and preparing required documentation
  • Collaborate with the global Pricing team to identify, track, and resolve Issues and Events, serving as a process steward
  • Manage key activities within the Issue Event framework, including gap reviews, opening Issues/Events, gathering supporting evidence, tracking progress, and preparing reports
  • Identify and recommend process and system/tool enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure all key processes and procedures are clearly documented and maintained

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in audit, risk management, control management, issue management, or a related business discipline
  • Proven ability to collaborate and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience collaborating with offshore teams is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
