The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for developing a consensus material forecast through the analysis of trends, historical demand, and customer input. This role collaborates closely with Sales and Customers to create monthly demand plans that drive inventory acquisition and deliver optimal customer service levels. The ideal candidate is energetic, results-driven, analytical, and fosters strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Develop monthly item-level materials forecasts using historical data, customer input, statistical models, and market trends.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to build monthly consensus forecasts.
- Maintain the integrity of the forecasting system database used to drive base forecasts.
- Prepare and report forecasting metrics such as forecast accuracy, customer attach rates, and root cause analysis of forecast errors.
- Coordinate forecasting and inventory planning activities for customer special projects and new business initiatives.
- Communicate trends and forecasts to stakeholders to support sales growth and identify risks.
- Work directly with Sales and Customers to identify sales opportunities through trend analysis.
- Partner with the materials team to ensure inventory levels support customer forecasts.
- Organize monthly forecast review meetings with internal and external partners.
- Review customer orders to ensure optimal service levels and improve forecast accuracy.
- Communicate potential service or inventory issues to management.
- Participate in Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Improvement, and Lean Management initiatives.
- Demonstrate knowledge of supply planning parameters, inputs, and outputs.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to influence KPIs and business outcomes.
- Understand business plans and the contribution of the Global Supply Chain value stream.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Logistics, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field preferred, with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
- In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in reverse logistics planning and familiarity with major forecasting systems/software preferred.
- Business certifications/training preferred (e.g., APICS, CSCP/CPIM, Six Sigma).
- Strong analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service oriented and strong team player.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret information.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for the duration of the shift.
- Must possess visual acuity to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to conduct physical tasks with a full range of motion throughout the warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds.
