We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Specialist Anesthesiologist to join our expanding perioperative and surgical team.
Position Summary
As a Specialist Anesthesiologist, you will be directly responsible for the complete continuum of anesthesia care—spanning thorough pre-operative assessments, precise intra-operative administration, and diligent post-operative recovery management. This is an active, fully operational clinical role that requires direct hands-on delivery of medical care, technical expertise, and collaborative coordination across multiple surgical specialties to ensure maximum patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities1. Clinical & Perioperative Care
- Pre-Anesthetic Assessments: Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations, review comprehensive medical histories, order/interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate tailored anesthetic plans based on individual patient risks.
- Anesthesia Administration: Safely administer general, regional (spinal, epidural, nerve blocks), and intravenous sedation for a wide range of elective and emergency surgical procedures.
- Intra-operative Monitoring: Continuously monitor vital signs, fluid balance, and anesthesia depth throughout surgical cases, adjusting levels proactively to maintain patient stability.
- Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU): Oversee immediate post-operative recovery, manage acute pain management protocols, and establish clear criteria for safe patient discharge to inpatient units or home care.
2. Operational Execution & Collaboration
- Hands-on Performance: Actively perform all core procedural duties; this role requires direct execution of clinical tasks and daily management of anesthesia delivery, working alongside anesthesia technicians and nursing staff.
- Multidisciplinary Liaison: Collaborate closely with surgeons, critical care teams, and specialized departments to ensure integrated, holistic care for every patient.
- Emergency Response: Provide expert airway management, resuscitation, and crisis intervention services across the facility when required.
3. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain meticulous, timely, and accurate electronic medical records (EMR) in strict compliance with legal, ethical, and hospital governance standards.
- Regulatory Alignment: Adhere strictly to Dubai Health Authority (DHA) frameworks, international healthcare accreditation protocols, and standard infection control guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate actively in clinical audits, morbidity/mortality reviews, and quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient safety outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent medical degree from a recognized, accredited institution.
- Specialization: Master’s degree, structured clinical residency, or recognized fellowship in Anesthesiology.
- Licensing:
- An active, valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) License or a confirmed DHA Eligibility Letter as a Specialist Anesthesiologist is mandatory.
- A valid Certificate of Good Standing from the current/most recent licensing authority.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of independent clinical experience as a Specialist Anesthesiologist post-qualification, preferably within an internationally accredited hospital or a high-volume specialty surgical center.
- Technical Skills: Mastery of advanced airway management, ultrasound-guided regional nerve blocks, and modern hemodynamic monitoring systems.
- Core Competencies: Excellent crisis-management capabilities, exceptional interpersonal communication skills, and a strong commitment to continuous medical education (CME).
- Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Proficiency in Arabic or additional languages is considered a distinct professional asset.
