UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities

Order and pick up medications from the Pharmacy.

Stock carts with needed medications.

Require knowledge of generic and brand names for all pharmaceuticals.

Maintain medications within their expiration date and properly dispose of expired medications.

Stock and clean all assigned areas daily. Stock, clear, and replace all anesthesia equipment and supplies as necessary.

Participate in room turnover, assuring minimal downtime between cases.

Perform decontamination of areas after each case. Remove and replace anesthesia circuits and suction. Change the soda lime canister as needed.

Set up special monitoring lines for cases.

Coordinate basic upkeep and maintenance of anesthesia machine with Biomedical personnel.

Obtain and prepare equipment for the transport of critically ill patients.

Maintain all specialty carts in the department.

Maintain daily log of refrigerator temperatures in workrooms in Main OR, Day Surgery, and OB.

Adhere to guidelines provided by MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) on hazardous materials and supplies.

Recognize, adhere to, and be knowledgeable of the Joint Commission standards.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent.
-
Knowledge of ordering supplies and keeping inventory.
-
Comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and policies.
