Physician Practice Enhancement is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Anesthesiologist for a hospital in East Brunswick, NJ

All Shifts available 10hr,12 hour, 16hr weekend 24 hr shifts

Full Time, Part Time or Per Diem available

About the Role:

The Pediatric Anesthesiologist plays a critical role in delivering safe and effective anesthesia care to infants, children, and adolescents undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures. This position requires expertise in pediatric physiology and pharmacology to tailor anesthesia plans that minimize risks and optimize patient outcomes. The anesthesiologist collaborates closely with surgeons, pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive perioperative care. They are responsible for preoperative assessments, intraoperative management, and postoperative pain control, ensuring the comfort and safety of young patients throughout their medical experience. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall success of pediatric surgical interventions and the well-being of patients and their families.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in anesthesiology.
  • Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology.
  • Fellowship training in pediatric anesthesiology or equivalent specialized experience.
  • Valid New Jersey medical license to practice anesthesiology in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board certification in pediatric anesthesiology.
  • Experience working in a pediatric hospital or specialized pediatric surgical center.
  • Advanced training or certification in pain management or critical care.
  • Familiarity with the latest anesthesia technologies and pediatric sedation protocols.
  • Strong background in research or quality improvement initiatives related to pediatric anesthesia.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations to assess the medical history, physical status, and anesthesia risks of pediatric patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans tailored to the unique needs of each child.
  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients continuously during surgical and diagnostic procedures to maintain vital functions and respond to any complications.
  • Manage postoperative recovery, including pain management and monitoring for adverse reactions or complications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize perioperative care and participate in family education and support.

Skills:

The Pediatric Anesthesiologist utilizes advanced clinical skills to assess and manage the unique physiological and psychological needs of pediatric patients. Effective communication skills are essential for explaining procedures and risks to both children and their families, as well as coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams.
