Animal Keeper

The Animal Keeper is responsible for ensuring the health, hygiene, and overall welfare of animals under their care by maintaining clean, safe, and well-organized environments. The role reports to the immediate Supervisor and operates in accordance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and animal welfare standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Animal Care & Monitoring:

• Ensure animals are clean, well-groomed, and kept in a fresh and healthy environment.
• Observe animals daily and identify any unusual conditions, abnormal behavior, or signs of illness.
• Promptly report illness, disease, injury, or unusual activity to technicians or veterinarians for further action.

Shelter & Facility Maintenance:

• Clean and sanitize animal shelters, farms, runs, and related areas according to the approved cleaning checklist and routine schedule.
• Follow established shelter procedures to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety at all times.

Compliance & Reporting:

• Adhere strictly to company protocols and policies related to animal care, welfare, and safety.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning, sanitation, and daily activities.
• Report any deviations, issues, or concerns to the Supervisor.

Additional Duties:

• Assist with any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Manager as required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in animal care, farming, or similar roles is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of animal welfare, hygiene, and safety practices.
• Ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Physically fit and willing to work in farm or outdoor environments.
• Team-oriented with good observation and reporting skills.
