Animation Artist (Short-Form Social Content)

About the Role

We’re looking for a Freelance Animation Artist to help bring our digital characters and collectibles to life through short-form video content for Instagram. Our brand sells digital blind boxes, giving fans the thrill of unboxing and collecting unique characters online—and your animations will help capture that excitement.

This role is ideal for a motion designer or animator who’s fluent in the language of social media, understands how to make short-form content pop, and can create visually engaging animations that connect with audiences who love digital toys, collectibles, and gaming culture.

Responsibilities

• Edit animations into short-form videos optimized for Instagram Reels and Stories.
• Animate products, characters, and app features to showcase the unboxing experience and digital collectibles.
• Incorporate social trends, humor, and storytelling to make animations shareable and fun.
• Collaborate with the brand team to conceptualize new animation ideas and visual directions.
• Deliver final assets formatted for mobile and social media use.

Preferred Style & Content Examples:

• Character and product animations
• Fun, eye-catching motion graphics
• Trend-based animations or meme-style edits
• 2D or 3D animation of unboxing moments or digital toy reveals
• Loops, transitions, or effects that enhance live-action videos

Requirements

• Proven experience in animation and motion design (portfolio required).
• Ability to animate characters and/or products in a playful, engaging style.
• Skilled with animation software.
• Strong understanding of short-form social content (especially Instagram Reels).
• Creativity, speed, and adaptability to current trends.
• Ability to work independently and meet quick turnaround deadlines.

Bonus Points

• Experience working with digital toy, gaming, or collectible brands.
• Interest in character design or storytelling through animation.
• Experience with graphic design, especially for social media (include examples in portfolio).

Job Type: Contract

Projected Total Compensation: $2,000.00 - $3,000.00 per month
