We are looking to hire a qualified Childcare Center Director to manage our day-to-day operations and establish and sustain a positive learning environment for children. You will oversee the coordination of education programs that comply with local and federal regulations, ensure that facilities are maintained, manage and support the daycare staff, and manage the center's financial affairs.
A successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in managing all aspects of a daycare center or nursery school, as well as strong leadership skills. This person should display a friendly demeanor, have a love for children, and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for both children and teachers. Early childhood development experience is a plus.
Job Responsibilities
Budget/finances:

Manage and oversee the budget and accounts and ensure that the center remains profitable

Ensure accuracy and timely collection of tuition in accordance with company policies and procedures

Prepare and submit timely billing and other reports as required
Curriculum:

Plan, manage and coordinate the implementation of age appropriate curriculum
Enrollment:
-
Manage enrollment and retention of students and families
-
Maximize occupancy of building
Facilities management:
-
Ensure that the center’s physical facilities comply with state, local, and federal laws and operates safely

Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children
Human Resources:
-
Interview, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements

Manage and support staff and promote their professional development to retain high quality staff

Manage staff scheduling

Conduct staff orientation, complete faculty reviews, facilitate professional development

Maintain accurate record-keeping including faculty files, student files, and classroom records, while adhering to confidentiality procedures
Licensing/legality:

Legal knowledge in the areas of center management and operation

Comply with all licensing requirements

Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal laws regarding safety
Marketing:

Develop and facilitate a marketing and communications plan

Manage marketing initiatives

Plan and participate responsibly in marketing and special events

Represent the center to public, community, parents, visitors and staff with professionalism and integrity
Relationships and Personal Development

Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and the center’s policies

Maintain strong relationships with our families, faculty, and vendors

Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures
-
Cultivate and maintain a safe and enjoyable culture while working in a fast-paced environment

Perform all essential functions for each position in the center, including, but not limited to, teacher, cook, and van driver

Effect change required for continual compliance and improvements

Consistently follow through with all duties and miscellaneous duties as assigned in a competent and timely manner
Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age
-
Must have high school diploma or GED
-
Must have completed at least one course in business administration or have 12 contact hours in administrative-related training related to personnel, supervision, record keeping, or budgeting, or have one year administrative-related experience

Must be certified in infant, child, and adult CPR, first aid, mandatory reporter
-
MUST meet DHS/HHS qualifications for a director
- 100 total points required from the following list of education, experience and training:

A minimum of two categories must be used.

No more than 75 points may be achieved in any one category.

At least 20 points must be obtained from the experience category.
1. Education
-
Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood, child development, or elementary education – 75 points
-
Associate’s degree in child development, or bachelor’s degree in child-related field – 50 points
-
Child development associate (CDA) or one-year diploma in child development from community college or technical school - 40 points
-
Bachelor’s degree in non-child-related field – 40 points
-
Associate’s degree in non-child-related field or completion of at least two years of a four-year degree – 20 points
