Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Multi-Purpose Nurse to join our Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) project in Madhya Pradesh. The nurse will provide essential healthcare services to underserved rural populations, working closely with a team of medical professionals to deliver primary care, maternal and child health services, emergency care, and health education in remote areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care & Assessment:
- Conduct initial assessments of patients’ health conditions, including measuring vital signs, administering first aid, and providing basic healthcare interventions.
- Provide emergency care and assist with the stabilization of patients in critical condition until further medical assistance is available.
- Monitor patients’ health progress and update records regularly.
- Primary Healthcare Services:
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and basic treatments as prescribed by the MMU doctors.
- Assist in wound dressing, administering injections, and other clinical tasks as needed.
- Support maternal and child health services, including antenatal care, postnatal care, and infant health monitoring.
- Health Education & Community Outreach:
- Educate patients and their families on hygiene, nutrition, vaccination schedules, and preventive healthcare practices.
- Conduct awareness campaigns in the community about common diseases, sanitation, and promoting healthy living practices.
- Provide family planning counseling and guidance on reproductive health.
- Collaborate with Medical Team:
- Work in collaboration with doctors, physiotherapists, lab technicians, and other healthcare professionals on the MMU to ensure integrated care for patients.
- Assist in the referral process for patients requiring specialized medical care or hospitalization.
- Mobile Unit Operations Support:
- Prepare and maintain the MMU for daily operations, ensuring the availability of medical supplies and equipment.
- Set up basic medical equipment and ensure sterilization and proper maintenance of tools.
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist in report preparation for MMU project updates.
- Maternal & Child Health:
- Provide support in antenatal checkups, safe deliveries (if trained), and postnatal care.
- Assist in infant care, growth monitoring, and immunization services.
- Support breastfeeding promotion and maternal mental health services.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Keep accurate patient records, document health assessments, treatments, and follow-ups.
- Ensure proper documentation for immunization, maternal health, and health education sessions.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Diploma in Nursing (GNM) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) from a recognized institution.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in rural health settings or community healthcare programs.
- Experience in primary healthcare, maternal and child health, or emergency care is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical skills, with the ability to handle emergency situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and their families.
- Ability to work in a mobile healthcare setting, adapting to challenges of rural and remote locations.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Languages:
- Proficiency in Hindi (knowledge of regional dialects is a plus).
- Basic understanding of local languages to communicate with rural populations.
Key Requirements:
- Travel:
- Willingness to travel to remote and rural areas across Madhya Pradesh as part of the MMU team.
- Physical Fitness:
- Ability to manage the physical demands of working in mobile healthcare units, including traveling and setting up medical stations.
- Cultural Sensitivity:
- Understanding and respect for local cultures and traditions. Experience in rural healthcare or community outreach is an advantage.
