The role of the UW’s Annual Philanthropy team is to build a community of supporters through strategic, omni-channel (integrated communications across mail, email, social, text, digital ad) programs that connect the University of Washington’s vision, philanthropic need and donor impact. Annual Philanthropy partners with UW campuses, units and central Advancement teams to strengthen giving across the donor continuum by optimizing resources, utilizing data-informed strategy and leveraging and amplifying engagement to raise funds for the UW’s top priorities .
The Annual Philanthropy team has an exciting opening for an A nnual Philanthropy Manager . This is a full-time , permanent position.
Working under the direction of the Director for Annual Philanthropy, t he Annual Philanthropy Manager is part of a dynamic team of analytics and annual giving professionals responsible for creating innovative strategies that engage and cultivate new generations of philanthropists in support of the UW’s mission. This position develops and implements innovative direct-response and digital strategies that drive annual giving, and collaborates closely with University Marketing & Communications and Alumni & Stakeholder Engagement to create personalized, donor-centered fundraising communications.
What You Will Do:
Direct Response & Digital Marketing
Design and implement direct response and digital marketing materials t hat leverage key platforms to enhance and grow donor participation and revenue. Develop innovative engagement strategies across mail, online and mobile channels to acquire , renew and retain donors, with a focus on gro wi ng mo nthly/sustainer giving.
Oversee direct response fundraising and engagement initiatives to acquire , renew and retain donors . Ensure initiatives emphasize audience segmentation and personalization.
Partner with University Marketing & Communications and Alumni & Stakeholder Engagement colleagues to coordinate communication activities and schedules.
Create donor journeys that support lead generation among distinct donor segments. (e.g., young alumni, leadership giving prospects)
Relationship Management
Collaborate with campus partners to support effective governance of the marketing automation platform by developing shared user policies, guidelines, and best practices that promote compliant and impactful digital engagement.

Work in partnership with the Director for Annual Philanthropy, unit partners, University Marketing & Communications and Alumni & Stakeholder Engagement colleagues to develop and implement a coordinated direct response and digital communications strategy for the UW ’s annual Husky Giving Day.
Partner with internal teams to create and maintain performance measurement frameworks and reporting tools that inform strategy, identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen the impact of digital fundraising efforts.
Provide timely , informed support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries related to annual giving strategies, digital fundraising and campaign implementation.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree AND three years of experience in direct response, digital fundraising or related field.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
What You Bring:
Knowledge of and proven ability to develop and implement direct response and digital fundraising strategies.
Ability to analyze and interpret relevant data and use interpretations to improve fundraising efforts across all digital channels.
Ability to use the UW ’s brand voice, both in visual representation and editorial style, to support consisten t of messaging across campaigns and the organization.
Demonstrated creativity, organizational ability and strong attention to detail.
Proficiency using Microsoft Suite and basic understanding of design programs and elements.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidence and protect confidential information.
What You Can Expect:
Hybrid work schedule: Two days in the office (Seattle campus)
Cubicle/Open workspace environment which may result in additional or higher levels of noise and visual distractions.
Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as necessary, on short or limited notice.
Frequent local travel expected .
