AOF Graphic Design and Communications Intern

Job description

The American Osteopathic Foundation is currently seeking a college-level intern for Summer 2026 (May/June through August). There is a possibility of continuing the internship into the fall based on performance and departmental needs (September through December 2026). Start and end dates will be determined with the intern based on their school schedule.

The pay rate will be $20 per hour for a maximum of up to 20 hours per week from May-August, and, if the intern is invited to continue, a maximum of 15 hours a week September through December.

The intern will work under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Mission Communications. The intern will support the Director in creating visual content for marketing and communication materials, including designing graphics, layouts, and supporting the overall messaging strategy across various platforms, while working closely with the Director to ensure brand consistency.

Responsibilities:

  • Visual Design:
    • Developing design concepts for digital and print marketing materials such as social media and email graphics, flyers, and posters.
    • Creating and editing graphics using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
    • Maintaining brand guidelines and consistency across all visual assets.
  • Communication Support:
    • Writing copy for social media captions.
    • Proofreading.
    • Gather industry information through internet searches.
  • Collaboration:
    • Working closely with the marketing and communications team to understand project needs and objectives.
    • Presenting design concepts and receiving feedback from the Director and other staff.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong visual design skills and understanding of color theory, typography, and layout
  • Basic skills in Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills; good proofreading skills a plus
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
