Mission For This Role:
The AP, AR and Reconciliation position at WPD assists to accomplish our overall mission and vision as the property management company of choice. The AP, AR and Rec Specialist acts as an accounting support function for WPD clients by maintaining accurate operating bank records and processing property income. The specialist will also monitor and process aspects of spending at all managed properties. This job is designed to be completed in-office, 5 days a week, on a limited hourly schedule (4 hours per day, 20 hours per week).
Objectives For the Role:
- Within the first 3 months it will be expected that the AP, AR, and Rec Specialist has been trained on the property management accounting software WPD utilizes.
- Training will include online tutorials for the AppFolio Property Management software. Additional opportunities to apply property transactions will coincide with this training to allow real life applications to the online lessons. The individual should be able to comfortably apply property payments and follow internal processes to complete monthly payment cycles.
- Training will include reconciling WPD Management software property accounts with property bank records. The individual should be able to identify and outline reconciliation differences and work with team members and management to determine course to reconcile any unusual circumstances.
- Training should conclude by the ability to manage a group of properties to reconcile monthly.
- Training should conclude by the ability to manage certain payable aspects of the property management process as determined by the Accounting CFO.
- Within the first 6 months, the AP, AR, and Rec Specialist should be proficient in processing routine assignments with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate an ability to utilize our property management software for payable processing to efficiently complete daily, weekly and monthly tasks, and provide management reporting as requested.
- Independently work on all AP and AR assignments, engaging with accounting team members or other WPD departments as necessary.

- Organized: The role includes activity that is cyclical and requires that the individual maintain a standard of completing monthly tasks and maintaining accurate records of activity as required by Accounting and other WPD Departments.
- Strong attention to detail: Many of the roles and responsibilities of this position are designed to be repetitive and based on a cyclical monthly accounting schedule. Strong attention to detail and follow through is absolutely critical to ensure success.
- Balanced: The role may require ad hoc requests to provide critical information for management or clients. The ability to multitask when requested but still complete all assignments as assigned and outlined on the department schedule, will keep the department running smoothly.
- Positive attitude and strong communication: A successful person in this role will be able to work independently and with other accounting team members and departments to complete assignments. We expect all team members to voice concerns and ask questions as they arise.
Qualification and Skills:
- Accounting experience in accounts payable and receivable
- Accounting experience in reconciliation (preferred in real-estate, property management, or an adjacent industry)
- Knowledge of computer programs – Excel, Gmail communication platform
- Appfolio property management software experience strongly considered
Role Details:
- Part Time Position, Monday through Friday, 10am to 2pm
- Hourly Position: $22-$25/Hour (based on experience)
- Approximately 20-25 hours per week
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
