Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager
Pay: 80K Annually

The Accounts Payable Manager is a full-time position based in Honolulu responsible for overseeing daily AP operations, managing staff and vendors, ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing, improving procedures and internal controls, supporting audits and financial reporting, and resolving vendor issues. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative, with supervisory AP experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel in a fast-paced office environment.
Essential Functions:
- Manage all areas of the AP process to ensure best-in-class processes for invoices from our vendors, contractors, and business partners.
- Manage and train AP staff and our outsourcing vendor.
- Provide clear expectations and feedback to hold AP staff accountable to provide great service to external and internal customers.
- Assess, execute and improve AP policies, procedures and internal controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Maintain documentation including workflow flowcharts and internal control procedures.
- Review, validate and properly address vendor issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure supporting documentation is complete, accurate and approved.
- Maintain and execute our records retention policies and practices for accounts payable documentation.
- Provide the required support and documentation for year-end audit work and tax returns.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of AP transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies and procedures.
- Manage and address the aging of trade accounts payables, and the assignment, coding, and resolution of items in the suspense account.
- Responsible for the posting of accruals and estimates in the monthly/quarterly closing processes.
- Preparation of reports, reconciliations, and summaries of financial data.
- Responsible for set up of new payment applications and reconciliation of accounts, as needed, to support vendors.
- Interact professionally and collaboratively with management and other departments for invoice dispute resolution, approvals, efficient AP processing and special projects.
- Other accounting tasks and projects as needed.

- Must be able to step in to process AP functions.
Qualification/Skills/Ability:
- Bachelor’s degree required, 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
- 2+ years of relevant professional experience including supervision and management of both the AP function and AP accountants.
- Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced AP environment.
- Adherence to deadlines and strict attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel required experience with Great Plains a plus
