Accounts Payable Representative
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Accounts Payable Representative’s role will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, processing checks, closing facilities monthly and running month-end reports, assisting in reconciling bank statements, and processing 1099s. This position will require training in the BCG Coralville, IA. office, then transition to working permanently from the Lee Agency Muscatine, IA. office.
Essential Functions

- Utilize your knowledge and training of the Wellsky software daily to process accounts payable by entering invoices and processing checks with little to no errors
- Ensure the processing of invoices within 48 hours of receipt
- Follow the monthly closing schedule and run the month-end reports
- Familiarize yourself with, and regularly use the BCG Chart of Accounts
- Reconcile the Insurance Expensed spreadsheet and the Insurance Work-Up spreadsheet for each facility
- Comply with individual customer requests and accurately compound and produce external reports
- Participate in Quick Books training as necessary
- Ensure the highest degree of customer service possible when communicating deadlines for reports and information to our clients
- Collect and organize our client’s W-9s as required throughout the year
- Process annual 1099s for your designated clients as instructed by your supervisor
- Review the accounts payable aging and purchase journal for accuracy while correcting and/or escalating any errors to your direct supervisor
- All other duties as assigned

Cross Training Requirements:
- This position is responsible for cross-training with other AP Representatives to the point of covering all Essential Job Functions of the position.
- This position may be responsible for cross-training with Payroll Representatives to the point of covering all basic responsibilities in the case of their absence.
Education & Experience
The following are the minimum requirements for the position, which may be satisfied by an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- An associate degree in accounting or similar field is required. If an applicant does not have the educational requirements, two years of experience in the field is appropriate for consideration of employment.
- Wellsky Software, Quickbooks and 1099 Processing highly preferred
- Basic accounting knowledge is required, as well as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills to the general degree.
