The Interventional Cardiology APP provides advanced clinical care to adult cardiovascular patients in an outpatient setting only under the supervision of collaborating interventional cardiologists. This role includes patient evaluation, peri-procedural management, diagnostic interpretation, treatment planning, patient education, and coordination of care across the continuum of cardiovascular services.
The PA functions as an integral member of the cardiovascular team, supporting high-quality, evidence-based care for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.

Responsibilities
Collaboration: Interacts with various members of the health care team to meet patient care needs and collaborates with other providers to identify changing patient needs. Identifies teaching/learning needs of patients, documents patient care services in the electronic health record.
Communication: Exhibits skill in the management of conflict situations, functions so as to promote trusting relationships and demonstrates open and honest communication at the unit level. Participates in performance improvement activities as appropriate and promotes and fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and excellence among staff.
Job Skills: Conducts physical examinations, initiates testing and treatment based on scope of practice, identifies normal and abnormal findings and acts upon abnormal findings accordingly. Refers patients to appropriate specialists and/or allied health professionals and provides counseling and instruction regarding common patient problems.
Safety: Protects patients, visitors and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, and identifying patients using two identifiers (i.e., name and date of birth) prior to providing any treatment or procedure. Consults supervising provider as needed.
Scope of Practice: Provides patient care based on privileges as approved by the Medical Staff office.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly.
