Job Synopsis
The Appalachia Build Meals Coordinator works under the supervision of the Hospitality Manager to plan and prepare meals for Volunteers. MCC Appalachia Build focuses on housing repair for low-income individuals and families who do not qualify for other low-cost housing programs. The program brings in volunteers especially in the Summer. Some of the goals in addition to home repairs include faith-sharing, communication, and understanding between volunteers and local residents. This three-month assignment interacts with youth groups, youth sponsors, and clients as well as the rest of the team on location.

Key Responsibilities
Specific Tasks and Duties:
- Sort, store and distribute ingredients.
- Handle and prepare food safely according to required standards, including washing, peeling, chopping, cutting, cooking, and preparing salads and desserts.
Supervision: No direct supervisory responsibilities but helps oversee volunteers in the kitchen.
Travel expectations: No travel is required.
Physical Activity/Demands:
Environment Conditions: regularly exposed to noisy environments and small, enclosed kitchen spaces.
