About the Role
Uber Engineering operates in a high-performance environment driven by scale, reliability, and speed. We're looking for an
Application Admin Engineer who thrives at the intersection of IT operations, SaaS administration, automation, and customer impact. This role owns the operational health, configuration, and lifecycle of Uber's core enterprise applications while acting as the highest escalation point for complex application issues.
You will partner closely with Engineering, Security, IT Ops, and Business stakeholders to ensure Uber's critical collaboration and productivity platforms run securely, efficiently, and at global scale.
This is not a traditional service desk role, it's a
hands-on application ownership role with real influence over tooling, processes, and user experience across Uber.
- Basic Qualifications -

4+ years of IT or Enterprise Application experience.

3+ years supporting SaaS platforms at scale with admin-level access.

Strong scripting or coding skills (Python, Bash, APIs).

Experience automating workflows across enterprise applications.

Familiarity with identity and access management (Okta, AD, SSO, SCIM).

Proven experience acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues.

Strong documentation, training, and communication skills.

Ability to respond quickly to incidents and operate effectively in high-pressure situations.

Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and work outside standard business hours when needed.

4+ years of experience supporting and administering enterprise SaaS platforms in a large-scale environment.

3-4+ years of experience serving as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex application, access, and integration issues, with a strong focus on operational efficiency and root-cause resolution.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.

Deep expertise in enterprise application administration, including permissions models, role-based access control (RBAC), SSO/SCIM provisioning, and SaaS integrations.

Strong working knowledge of identity and access management systems (Okta, Active Directory, SAML, OAuth) and their integration with enterprise applications.

Proven ability to manage multiple applications, initiatives, and incidents simultaneously while executing accurately and at scale.

Demonstrated strength in problem-solving, systems thinking, and process optimization across enterprise tooling.

Experience handling sensitive access, data, and security-related requests with a high level of discretion and professionalism.

Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly technical, global environment with minimal oversight.

Strong stakeholder-facing skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality customer experiences for internal enterprise users.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

Comfort participating in on-call rotations and responding to critical application issues outside standard business hours.
