Application Engineer

CT – Sales/Technical Support

Reports To:

The Application Engineer will report to Sales Manager.

Job Overview:

The Application Engineer will provide technical expertise and support to customers, sales teams,

and partners in the selection, application, and troubleshooting of cooling tower, Filtration and

Heat Exchangers systems. This role involves analyzing customer requirements, preparing

technical proposals, and ensuring optimal system performance while promoting the company’s

product portfolio.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Technical Support & Proposal Development:

o Review customer specifications and design solutions that meet performance,

efficiency, and budget requirements.

o Prepare detailed technical proposals, including system sizing, material selection,

and performance calculations.

o Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure accurate and competitive

quotations.

2. Customer & Sales Support:

o Work closely with the sales team to provide pre- and post-sales technical

assistance.

o Conduct product presentations, training sessions, and technical discussions with

clients.

o Address customer inquiries regarding proposed systems’ performance,

maintenance, and troubleshooting.

3. Product & Market Expertise:

o Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging

technologies.

o Provide feedback to suppliers for product improvement based on customer needs

and market demands.

o Assist in marketing efforts by creating technical documentation, case studies, and

white papers.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field.

• Experience:

o 2+ years in cooling tower applications, HVAC systems, or thermal engineering

(experience in a trading company is a plus).

o Familiarity with cooling tower types (e.g., crossflow, counterflow,

induced/forced draft) and materials (FRP, steel, etc.).

o Familiarity with plate heat exchangers, centrifugal, Disc and Screen filtration

systems.

o Experience with international standards (CTI, ASME, AHRI).

• Technical Skills:

o Capable of handling engineering software preferably in cooling tower design

o Knowledge of HVAC systems, heat transfer principles, and water treatment.

o Ability to interpret technical drawings (P&IDs, layouts).

• Soft Skills:

o Strong communication and presentation skills.

o Customer-focused with problem-solving abilities.

o Willingness to travel for customer meetings or site visits.
