Application Engineer

Overview:

PSC Industries, Inc., a progressive and growing manufacturing organization, is hiring an Application Engineer in Auburndale, Florida. The Application Engineer will provide technical support to our OEM customers to aid in the integration of our products into their designs and systems. This role requires understanding the customer requirements, providing technical support, troubleshooting design and integrations issues and collaborating with PSC Internal Corporate and Department Leaders. The Application Engineer will also lead plant level engineering activities regarding equipment, processes, improvement and planning.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Engineering:

• Lead Facility Continuous Improvement Initiatives
• Coordinate with Corporate Quality on Internal and External Corrective actions and Root Cause Analysis
• Generate and review BOMs and tooling layouts focused on maximizing material utilization and profitability

Production:

• Continuously improve production through tracking OE and reducing scrap
• Maintain facility-wide commitment to 100% on-time delivery of all products

Safety/Environmental

• Manage facility's DOT program
• Maintain PSC's Safety and Environmental Program

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• 5 years experience in manufacturing engineering activity
• Engineering experience within an OEM facility (Appliance, HVAC, Automotive, Marine) is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and use drafting software
• Background in Lean Manufacturing, including Kanban, Kaizen, 5-S and Six Sigma methodology
• Detail Oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, both internally and externally.
• Operational understanding of ISO 9001:2015
