Application Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a technically strong Application Engineer – HVAC / Air-Conditioning Equipment to support the selection, design, and application of air-conditioning systems. The role bridges engineering and sales by providing technical solutions, system calculations, drawings, and product recommendations tailored to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project requirements and recommend suitable HVAC and air-conditioning solutions
• Perform cooling load calculations, heat gain/loss analysis, and equipment sizing
• Prepare technical submittals, layouts, and basic HVAC drawings (as required)
• Support sales teams with technical presentations, product selection, and proposals
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams on technical matters
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and local HVAC codes
• Assist with value engineering and optimization of system designs
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support for air-conditioning equipment
• Review BOQs, specifications, and tender documents
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical clarifications when required
• Stay updated on new HVAC technologies, energy efficiency standards, and products

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in HVAC or air-conditioning application engineering
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (DX, VRF/VRV, Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems)
• Proficiency in cooling load calculation methods and HVAC design principles
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and HVAC design tools (e.g., HAP, TRACE, or similar)
• Understanding of ASHRAE standards and local HVAC codes
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with sales and project teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with residential, commercial, and light industrial HVAC projects
• Knowledge of energy-efficient and green building solutions
• Field or site experience with HVAC installations and commissioning
• Experience working with OEMs or HVAC equipment suppliers
