Application Laboratory Head (HOD)

We are a leading company in the domain of distillery process aids. We distribute and produce world-class products for Grain, Molasses & Malt-based Distilleries.

The Application Laboratory Head is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the application lab, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical support for internal teams and customers. This role oversees application testing, product performance evaluation, and supports the development of innovative solutions tailored to market needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background, leadership skills, and experience in application development within the fermentation/brewing/distilling/pharmaceutical industry.

Experience of NABL compliance will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory Operations & Management

• Supervise day-to-day laboratory activities, ensuring efficient workflow and safety compliance
• Develop and maintain lab procedures, including SOPs and quality standards
• Ensure the proper maintenance, calibration, and operation of lab equipment

Application Development & Testing

• Design and conduct application experiments and product performance evaluations
• Develop testing protocols and interpret technical data to support product claims
• Identify application improvements or innovations to enhance product positioning

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor lab scientists and technicians
• Plan workloads and project timelines in coordination with business priorities
• Foster a culture of safety, continuous learning, and technical excellence

Customer and Commercial Support

• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and technical service teams to understand customer needs
• Prepare technical documentation, application notes, and training materials

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of experiments, test data, and technical findings
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

• Master’s degree in chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, and Chemical Engineering.

Experience:

• 7+ years of relevant experience in a technical or laboratory environment
• 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Experience in application development, testing, or formulation.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities
• Proficient in lab instrumentation (HPLC, Spectrophotometer, etc.) and testing protocols
• Familiarity with NABL compliance

Pay: ₹75,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
