DESCRIPTION
This position will function as an application systems analyst on a small but highly energetic and talented team of software developers, business analysts, and project managers. This position will contribute to the development, configuration, and delivery of new information systems and interfaces; as well as the daily support, maintenance, and enhancement of existing information systems and interfaces to directly support the department's mission.
This position will work with customers and stakeholders and help define application software and interface requirements, complete business and technical process modeling, perform data analysis, develop data migration and/or data update scripting, ensure compliance to business and technical requirements through quality testing and evaluation of software releases and coordinate software releases. The incumbent achieves operational objectives by implementing quality and customer-service standards, resolving problems, determining system improvements, and implementing change.
It's a busy and exciting time for our department. We’re engaged in several major modernization projects and Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) is deploying a variety of new enterprise tools (e.g., an enterprise data warehouse, an enterprise application services bus, rules engine tools, a document management system, a new service management platform, etc.) to support modern application development and support. We’re looking for people to join our team who are hungry, humble, and smart.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT: It is the policy of the Florida Department of Children and Families that any applicant being considered for employment must successfully complete a State and National criminal history check as a condition of employment before beginning employment, and be screened in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, F.S., and, if applicable, Chapter 408, F.S. No applicant may begin employment until the background investigation results are received, reviewed for any disqualifying offenses, and approved by the Agency. Background investigations shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for State and Federal criminal records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and may include local criminal history checks through local law enforcement agencies. Employees also are subject to background re-screening at least every five (5) years. No applicant may begin employment until the background screening results are received, reviewed for any disqualifying offenses, and approved by the Agency.
