Application Technologist Bakery, Istanbul, Turkey

IFF is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional with a strong background in the baking industry to join our team as an Application Technologist – Bakery. This role supports the continuous growth of our ingredients business across the Europe, Middle east and Africa region. In the role of baker, you will work closely with both local and international colleagues. You will actively engage in daily internal and external activities with your knowledge and experience from the bakery industry, thereby contributing to the development of the functional ingredients. Precision, knowledge sharing and building are essential in this job.

• Plan, execute, and follow up on systematic baking trials, both internally and with customers.
• Translate theoretical knowledge into practical applications in the bakery, documenting observations and results.
• Provide technical and creative support in development projects and customer collaborations.
• Contribute to concept development and the launch of new products.
• Develop and optimize processes using our modern pilot bakery equipment.
• Train colleagues and customers in the functionality of our ingredients and demonstrate product applications.
• Support daily operations in the bakery lab, including procurement, maintenance, and inventory management.

• Trained baker, preferably with additional education in process technology.
• Several years of hands-on experience in the bakery or food ingredients industry.
• Skilled in conducting structured experimental work with attention to precision and repeatability.
• Curious, open-minded, and passionate about innovation in baking.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, multicultural matrix organization.
• Independent, responsible, and quick to learn and apply new knowledge.
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to knowledge sharing.
• Excellent communication skills with a positive and respectful attitude.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Confident using IT tools, especially Office 365.
