SCHEDULE

Regular Full-Time Position

Must be available from Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM through 4:30 PM, must be available for after hours as needed.
Must be flexible with schedule changes to meet operational needs.

HIRING RANGE

$65,646.00 - $85,943.00
Actual pay commensurate with experience

JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates and performs the testing and validation of electronic interfaces
and serves as a liaison between DLS, vendors, and clients. Coordinates the implementation of outreach applications and services and serves as a liaison and support for these systems. Identifies, communicates, and implements system improvements as identified by data analytics and as assigned by management. Handles multiple projects simultaneously using project management tools and techniques.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinates and performs the testing and validation of electronic interfaces. (45%)*

  • Performs testing to meet internal requirements as well as any vendor requirements.
  • Escalates invalid results and issues to middleware vendor and team.
  • Directs vendor(s) and retest issues as required until corrected.
  • Performs Alpha and Beta testing to ensure that all interfaces are in sync.
  • Reviews and validates results to ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Creates, coordinates, and executes compendium update plans with vendors.

2. Identifies, recommends, and implements system and workflow enhancements and identifies and analyzes problems for various technical solutions. (30%)*

  • Collaborates with internal departments, vendors and clients to find solutions.
  • Implements solutions and/or redefine workflows to maximize functionality of systems.
  • Debugs Health Layer 7 (HL7) and other interface messages as appropriate.
  • Drafts technical specifications and related documentation on systems operating procedures for review and approval of the manager/supervisor.
  • Coordinates and/or participates in conference calls and meetings to ensure communication among all internal and external parties.
  • Supports operations after hours as needed.
  • Provides tier one (1)operational and SME (System Matter Expert) support.
  • Creates, revises, and documents processes and procedures.
  • Collaborates with business owners to establish requirements, project scope, feasibilities, and timelines.
  • Consults with Information Systems technical team to identify technical options and solutions.

3. Maintains documentation as required by regulatory bodies such as, but not limited to, the College of American Pathologists (CAP). (5%)

4. Application Analyst, IT Outreach II Responsibilities (in addition to Application Analyst, IT Outreach I):

  • Leads electronic integration projects and associated testing and validation.
  • Independently performs all meetings, testing, validation, and documentation for electronic interfaces projects that are assigned.
  • Supports server and connectivity infrastructure as directed by management.
  • Trains employees on processes, procedures, and workflows.
  • Recognizes abnormal or unusual electronic interface issues.
  • Identifies problems that may adversely affect electronic transmissions of messages and/or business systems and uses knowledge, deductive skills, and judgment to troubleshoot and resolve them.
  • Independently troubleshoots and debugs Health Level 7 (HL7) messages.
  • Ensures resources and financial commitment are in alignment with project scope.

5. Performs other duties as required.

JOB DEMANDS

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Able to sit and operate PC up to two (2) hours continuously.
  • Requires working under pressure and handling multiple assignments.
  • Able to carry, lift, push or pull supplies or equipment up to thirty (35) pounds occasionally.
  • Requires driving and business travel via air occasionally.

Typical Working Conditions:

  • Remote position must be located on Oahu. Requires frequent visits to company office(s) and client locations.
  • Work environment includes conditions common to administrative offices and hospital/laboratory environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (High School diploma plus four (4) years of Information Technology work experience in healthcare systems or Associate’s degree plus two (2) years of Information Technology work experience in healthcare systems may substitute for Bachelor’s degree)

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Medical Technology or related field.

Experience:

Applications Analyst I, Outreach:

Required:

  • Three (3) years direct customer service experience.
  • Two (2) years experience in new IT systems implementations.
  • One (1) year project management experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
  • IT user training experience. Preferred:
  • Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) experience.
  • IT experience in a clinical or healthcare environment.
  • Experience with Antrim.

Applications Analyst II, Outreach:

Required:

  • Three (3) years direct customer service experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in new IT system implementations.
  • Three (3) years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
  • IT user training experience.
  • One (1) year of IT system administration experience. Preferred:
  • User experience with Laboratory Information Systems.
  • IT experience in a clinical or healthcare environment.
  • IT network administration experience.
  • Experience with Antrim.

Skills:

Required:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently with a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite or similar software.
  • Effective coaching skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in system requirements and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.

Other Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid driver’s license and able to travel between business locations.
