About The Role
Peraton is seeking a Applications Architect to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals.

This position is on-site in Tallahassee, Florida.

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:

The Applications Architect serves as a senior technical contributor and advisor. Day-to-day work includes:

  • Designing, developing, testing, and deploying Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX applications.
  • Writing and maintaining PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, packages, and triggers.
  • Supporting Oracle database objects, schemas, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Configuring and managing Oracle Fusion Middleware components, including WebLogic and related services.
  • Supporting and enhancing integrations with Florida PALM and FLAIR financial systems.
  • Designing and maintaining ETL processes to move data between internal systems and external platforms.
  • Implementing data mapping, transformation rules, validation checks, and error handling.
  • Addressing application performance, security, and compliance requirements, including PCI.
  • Producing detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operations manuals.
  • Providing knowledge transfer, coaching, and mentoring to FDACS and OATS staff.
  • Participating in project meetings and providing regular status updates, weekly reports, and timesheets.
The role requires steady collaboration with both business and technical stakeholders and consistent documentation of work performed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience or a Masters degree and 6 years of experience or a High School diploma and 12 years of experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (Green Card)
  • Must be able to successfully pass a Level 2 background check
  • 8 or more years of application development experience using Oracle Forms, Oracle APEX, PL SQL, and Oracle Database
  • Experience with Oracle Database development, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware, including WebLogic Server and Oracle HTTP Server
  • Experience integrating with enterprise financial systems, with Florida PALM or FLAIR experience highly preferred
  • Technical understanding of State of Florida accounting practices
  • Demonstrated experience supporting PCI compliance in application development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work on FDACS-related systems such as AIMS, FIS, or ROC.
  • Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).
  • Agile development environments.
  • Version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Application and data security best practices.
  • Prior experience in government or public sector environments.
  • Relevant Oracle certifications.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details
Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
