Overview
We are seeking a motivated and diligent Apprentice Plumber to join our team. This paid position offers hands-on experience in plumbing and related trades, providing a valuable foundation for a career in the building services industry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a keen interest in mechanical systems, possess good organisational skills, and be eager to learn from experienced professionals. This role involves working on various projects, assisting with installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks within residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Duties
- Assist senior plumbers with installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, assemble, and fit pipes and fixtures.
- Learn to operate welding equipment for pipe joining where applicable.
- Support with carpentry tasks related to plumbing installations.
- Measure materials accurately using basic maths skills to ensure proper fitting.
- Participate in the assembly of plumbing components and systems.
- Handle heavy lifting of pipes and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times.
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently during all tasks.
- Support with the use of mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues on-site.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of plumbing principles or related trade skills is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key.
- Experience or familiarity with welding, hand tools, power tools, carpentry, or assembly is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work physically demanding tasks.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations.
- Valid driving licence for commercial driving is a plus but not mandatory at the outset; training can be provided if necessary.
- Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills.
