Job Description

Based out of our Glasgow head office, but serving clients across the UK, we have an opening for time served Approved Electricians and Electricians to join our well established team.

Our company provides electrical and mechanical services to a diverse client list from private domestic customers to blue chip commercial enterprises as well as working with some of the leading UK main contractors. We are celebrating our 64th year in business.

We are looking for experienced approved electricians to join our teams in the commercial / projects divisions. You will be expected to work on your own initiative and be part of or lead a small team of electricians and apprentices.

The company actively supports the apprenticeship scheme and your role would involve their ongoing training and development on site.

Main duties and responsibilities;

Technical:

• Undertake refurbishment & installation works of all aspects of electrical services, including electrical switch gear, distribution boards, mains and sub- mains cabling, containment, lighting and other electrical equipment.
• To have knowledge of inspection and testing procedures and certify works upon completion in accordance with relevant certification

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Required:

• Valid ECS Grade Card
• Recognised Apprenticeship / Electrician SVQ Level 3
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Full clean driving licence.
• Previous experience working within commercial projects
• Minimum 5 years qualified experience.
• Customer focused individual with proactive approach to working.
• Ability to work on own initiative and or as part of a team
• Ability to work safely at all times and the ability to understand contract and Health & Safety requirements/regulations.
• Possess effective communication skills with ability to write technical reports and or communicate verbally with colleagues and client representatives.

Preferable but not compulsory:

• PASMA certification
• IPAF Certification

Customer Service:

• To provide a professional service and represent the company in a way which ensures customer satisfaction.
• To take a pro-active approach to client liaison and ensure that concerns are dealt with or relayed to management as necessary.
• To be fully aware of contractual requirements and customer needs at all times.

Hours and Environment:

• Rates in-line with current SJIB hourly rates.
• Permanent – 37.5 hours per week plus overtime plus other Company benefits (Pension scheme, Medical Insurance).
• Standard Hours are Monday to Thursday - 08:00am to 16:30pm, Friday 08:00am to 14:30pm, overtime available.
