This role serves as a competency center and provides project management expertise and guidance on analyst vendor evaluations and the Gartner Engagement Strategy.
Vendor evaluations are research reports published by analyst firms that monitor and evaluate the progress and relative position of companies delivering specific, technology-based capabilities. Examples of vendor evaluations are Gartner Magic Quadrants, Forrester Waves, IDC MarketScapes, and ISG Provider Lens among others. The lead is responsible for 1/ ensuring consistency in response and communications and 2/ raising the quality bar through developing, maintaining and training AR and our internal partners on the tools, mechanisms, and best practices to scale the evaluations process to all evaluations.
The Gartner Engagement Strategy includes managing the Vendor Lead Analyst (VLA), the Research Board calendar and community calls, and AWS’s AR presence at Symposium. The lead is responsible for defining the principles of the engagement strategy for Gartner and ensuring consistency in the AR team’s approach, content, roadmap sharing, and other policies across the organization. The lead advises the AWS Events team on the strategy for Gartner Symposium and other Gartner events where AWS will have a presence.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead planning for the company’s overall evaluation participation strategy.
- Partner with AR leads, service teams, marketing and sales to gather and present compelling evidence of AWS capabilities, customer success, and industry leadership. Create consistent AWS positioning and responses for key topics to be used across evaluations, including sharing directional roadmap content. Maintain content repository.
- Maintain database of customer references used across evaluations.
- Create and maintain repository for required deliverables and communications for evaluations. Audit quarterly.
- Partner with Tools lead to curate and maintain repository of GenAI tools for evaluations, including an Evaluations Agent trained on evaluation documentation to respond to process questions from AR and internal partners.
- Review and update evaluation processes and MQ Playbook to drive consistency and improvements. Own evaluation process documentation and mechanisms, ensuring they are readily available. Coach and mentor evaluation leaders on best practices for evaluation management.
- Define and manage the strategy and policies governing AWS’s engagement with Gartner, with the object of improving consistency, quality and visibility into engagements with Gartner analysts, results, and insights. Create a mechanism for tracking how insights are used by marketing, service teams, and sales.
- 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience in supporting Public Relations, Sales, Product, and/or Marketing teams
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experiences
- Experience managing vendor evaluations for Gartner Magic Quadrants, Forrester Waves, IDC Marketscapes, and others
- Previous experience in cloud computing via a communications or marketing role
- Ability to translate complex concepts into compelling stories
- Passion for working in a lean, fast-paced organization and a desire to own and refine key operational processes
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership & ability to adapt to a fast-changing and evolving role
- Natural tendency to invent, simplify, and take an innovative approach to AR
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
