You will be responsible for:
Patient Care and Eye Examinations:
- Sterilizing and maintaining the cleanliness of the treatment room at all times.
- Making sure the machinery and treatment room is adequately stocked, is regularly maintained and protected from damage and unauthorized use.
- Performing eye examinations in the most efficient manner in order to satisfy the customer and ensure they receive the best eye care possible based on their particular case.
- Making customers feel welcomed and comfortable by explaining the examination procedures clearly.
- Taking a detailed medical history of the customer to better understand and investigate their condition.
- Conduct thorough preliminary tests by visual observation and assessment of the eye, binocular assessment and the assessment of the optical nerve supply / pupillary reaction.
- Utilizing the latest refraction techniques, with instruments such as an autorefractor and a refractometer, to assess the patient's vision.
- When machines are not available, using retinoscopes or trial lenses to assess a patient's vision.
- Using the results of the complete assessment to provide a medical diagnosis for the patient case.
- Providing the patient with information about their diagnoses, what to expect, and what visual aids or treatments they will need to manage their diagnoses.
- Recommending visual aids to the patient based on their specific needs, taking into consideration their age, needs, lifestyle etc.
- Following the patient's detailed assessment, prescribing a treatment prescription and scheduling a follow-up visit.
- Providing customers with appropriate education about prescription / treatments they are receiving and the precautions they need to take when using them.
Sales and Store Operations:
- Increasing store profitability by converting assessment customers into sales
- Supporting sales advisors and customers with any medical or technical questions related to any eyewa products.
- Combining your medical knowledge and sales techniques to convert floor customers into sales

You will have:
- Ideally 1 - 3 years’ of experience as an Optometrist in a retail environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Optometry as well as being fully licensed by the local governing authority
- In depth knowledge of industry standards of customer service principles and customer relationship management.
- Experience in using advanced techniques to assess and diagnose customer vision problems
- Experience in using advance machines and manual equipment
