Job Summary

The Architect is responsible for:

  • The efficient and timely preparation of accurate, high-quality architecture drawings using the relevant software, including AutoCAD, Revit, for large scale, complex design projects, covering hospitality, healthcare, residential, offices, landscape, infrastructure, and mixed-use project types, preferably including towers of 30 floors or more as directed by the Architecture Team Lead (Cairo),
  • Coordination with the drafting resources, and other resources required for completion of all drawings, specifications and bills of quantities, and,
  • Strong working knowledge of all required architecture codes / standards, design and construction practices, and drawing practices for large scale, complex architecture design projects.


Critical outcomes of this role include; production of accurate, timely and high-quality architecture drawings for large scale, complex projects, and coordination of these drawings with all other required design disciplines such as structure, mechanical and electrical engineering, and quantity surveying.


The role requires building and maintaining professional relationships with internal stakeholders, other consultants, contractors, including coordinating with other design architects, engineers, Architecture Team Lead (Cairo), and the Design Project Manager to assist with submittal of overall project deliverables for concept, schematic, detailed design, and tender document stage submissions, in line with planned project timelines.


Job Duties

For specific allocated projects, in coordination with the Architecture Team Lead (Cairo), manage, plan and carry out;


  • Obtain all data and follow up with project managers, Architecture Team Lead (Cairo), other company staff, other consultants so that production of drawings, specifications and bills of quantities are completed in an accurate, timely manner, to the required quality,
  • Establish and build professional relationships with other staff, other Consultants, contractors.
  • Understand the project brief,
  • Assist Architecture Team Lead (Cairo), other Engineering Designers with the preparation and implementation of the Project architecture designs in coordination with the assigned project team,
  • Participate in and contribute to value engineering exercises, and,
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines and teams within ECEC and with 3rd parties in relation to technical, financial, safety, quality, schedule and other elements of a project, so that accurate architecture drawings, specifications and bills of quantities are produced.


Specifically, the Architect is responsible for:

  1. Implementing and updating specific and overall project architecture designs, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities for multiple complex design projects and construction projects,
  2. Assists the Architecture Team Lead (Cairo) on matters that cross between interfacing elements, projects,
  3. Work proactively, constructively, and fairly with all parties to ensure the successful execution of duties, and,
  4. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as directed, and as may be appropriate.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture,
  • Registration with a recognized professional Standards Institution (licensed to practice architecture),
  • Specific training & qualifications in architecture including use of specific software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Rhino,


Specific Skills Required

  • Very good level of competence in use of Revit, AutoCAD and other drafting software,
  • Excellent working knowledge of internationally accepted architecture, design industry principles and practices / safety / quality systems,
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant, current architecture design standards, including the Saudi Building Code,
  • Able to work with minimal supervision,
  • Excellent problem solving, numeracy and English literacy skills,
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills,
  • Use diplomacy and tact in discussions with other parties,
  • Contributes to team building and enhancing morale across the team / project,
  • Promotes equality and recognises diversity in managing people,
  • Understands local and international multi-cultural aspects of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and,
  • High level of computer literacy.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of related work experience in an architecture design consultancy, preparing designs for large scale, complex projects, and,
  • Previous Middle East experience in design and drafting using Revit and AutoCAD, and 3D modelling software is required.
