The Role
The Architect – Design Coordination will be responsible for managing and coordinating all architectural design-related activities at site, ensuring effective liaison between the Design Consultant, Project Team, and Construction Team to achieve compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and construction timelines. • Act as the primary site-based architectural coordinator between the Design Consultant and the project team. • Review architectural drawings, design submissions, and specifications for constructability, accuracy, and compliance with contract requirements. • Coordinate with the Design Consultant to resolve design issues, RFIs, and discrepancies raised by site and construction teams. • Ensure architectural designs comply with hospital planning standards, project specifications, local authority regulations, and client requirements. • Monitor and follow up on design deliverables, revisions, and approvals to meet project schedules. • Participate in design coordination meetings with consultants, client representatives, and internal teams. • Support the construction team by providing clarifications, sketches, and site instructions related to architectural works. • Assist in authority submissions and respond to comments in coordination with the Design Consultant. • Maintain proper records of drawings, revisions, approvals, and correspondence at site. • Ensure implementation of approved designs and report any deviations to the Design Manager.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. • Minimum 7–12 years of experience in architectural works for large-scale civil building projects. • Proven experience in hospital or healthcare projects is highly preferred. • Strong background in site-based design coordination within EPC or contractor organizations. • Experience working closely with international and local design consultants. Technical Skills • Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of BIM tools (Revit) is an advantage. • Strong understanding of hospital design standards, workflows, and functional planning. • Familiar with authority regulations, codes, and approval processes. • Ability to interpret and coordinate complex architectural and multidisciplinary drawings
