Architect Consultant - Apple Pay Issuer Implementation & Mobile Integration

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced ‘Architect’ to lead the end-to-end implementation of Apple Pay for Allied Bank Limited, covering mobile application integration, backend and card-management changes, tokenization, scheme and switch alignment, testing, and certification with all relevant stakeholders including Apple, Visa, 1LINK, and technology partners.

Key Experience & Skill Set Requirements:

• Lead complete Apple Pay issuer onboarding, including coordination with Apple, Visa, and Apple-designated certification partners;
• Study, interpret, and implement Apple Pay, Visa, and 1LINK documentation, ensuring accurate completion of onboarding and compliance artifacts;
• Coordinate with SDK provider Thales Group for SDK integration, certificate exchange, and technical alignment;
• Review Visa and 1LINK message specifications to implement required changes in ABL Card Management System (IRIS) and support transaction authorization certification;
• Lead mobile application development to integrate the native iOS SDK into the Cordova-based mobile banking application;
• Design and oversee development of custom Cordova plugins to bridge JavaScript and native iOS (Swift / Objective-C) layers;
• Lead development and enhancements in Card Management System (IRIS), including token handling, API integration, and authorization flow updates;
• Lead end-to-end certification with Apple, Visa, 1LINK, and ABL Card Management System (IRIS);
• Perform and supervise NFC / POS tap testing, transaction authorization validation, and end-to-end scenario testing;
• Provide overall architecture, implementation, and issue-resolution support across mobile, backend, certification, and partner workstreams;
• Familiarity with loyalty ecosystems, partner-led commerce, and growth-product experimentation;
• Exposure to issuer-side wallet tokenization flows, including DPAN vs FPAN concepts and token lifecycle management;
• Experience with Apache Cordova plugin development for native iOS SDK integration in mobile banking applications;
• Familiarity with EMV contactless, NFC-based POS transaction flows, cryptogram handling, and scheme / switch certification processes.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in digital payments, card systems, mobile wallet integration, or payment solution architecture.

• Proven hands-on experience in Apple Pay issuer implementations and mobile wallet integrations.

• Strong understanding of Card Management Systems, tokenization process flows, and payment transaction authorization.

• Experience with Cordova-based mobile applications and native iOS development / SDK integration.

Location : Preferably on-site based at Lahore. However, work arrangement can also be considered on Hybrid model
