POSITION: Architectural Designer
POSITION: Lead the development of design alternatives including the use of a variety of media, including computer visualization like AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Enscape and physical models with 3D Printing study models; ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, accessibility standards (ADA), and life safety regulations; prepare presentations and visual materials to communicate design ideas effectively for internal and clientele presentations; collaborate with clients and project teams to translate their vision into functional and aesthetically pleasing architectural drawings; utilize Revitzo, another software which is used to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including Structural, Lighting, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering, ensuring seamless integration and real-time updates of design changes, comments, and revisions across all disciplines; critically review and provide comprehensive responses to shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and submittals, ensuring the preservation and consistency of design intent and integrity throughout all phases of the project lifecycle; conduct site visits, field surveys, and construction observations to ensure projects align with contract documents and quality standards; stay current on industry trends and best practices by attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education courses, furthering expertise in architectural design and practice acquired through graduate studies; perform comprehensive material research, coordinating with industry representatives to acquire samples for internal review. Curate and assemble mood boards to effectively showcase design concepts and material selections for client to review; conduct research on construction techniques and sustainable design practices, integrating knowledge gained from coursework in building technology and environmental design to enhance the development of our ongoing aviation and transit projects; and work towards architectural licensure to apply comprehensive knowledge of building codes, construction methods, design principles, structural systems, sustainability practices, and professional ethics, while gaining hands-on experience in project management, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field plus any amount of experience . Must have any amount of experience with the following: Participate in collaborative design workshops, contributing to brainstorming sessions and sketching concepts alongside the team to explore solutions and refine design ideas; Support senior architects by reviewing existing building layouts and identifying areas that require modifications to meet accessibility and building code standards; Perform site visits to assess current conditions, take measurements, and document architectural plans and drawings that may need to be adjusted for improved functionality and accessibility; Use AutoCAD or Revit software to draft and update architectural drawings, ensuring that the design modifications align with building standards and regulations; Assist in researching local, state, and national codes to ensure that all design solutions are compliant with accessibility standards and legal requirements; Assist in creating 3D models and renderings using software like Revit, SketchUp, or Rhino, and enhance visual presentations with Photoshop to produce visuals for presentations; Organize and manage project records, including drawings, correspondence, specifications, and client feedback facilitating effective project discussions. Up to 20% domestic travel required. Up to 20% remote work allowed. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite.
Full time. The pay range for this role is $62,000.00 to $72,000.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
