Job Type:
- The position reports to the company owner/president, full-time, flexible hours and remote work depending on candidate. Candidate must reside in Santa Clara County or South Bay Area.
Responsibilities:
- Produce complete architectural drawings per company standards, jurisdiction requirements. Including, site visits, field measurements, "as built" documentation, interior and exterior elevations, develop finish schedules, etc.
- Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements and other technical documents for compliance.
- Work with consultants such as: Title 24, structural engineers, etc. to ensure alignment throughout plans.
- Submit and respond to jurisdiction plan check comments to obtain building permit approval.
- Prepare rough sketches and visual/3D drawings for client visualization.
Qualifications:
- At least 4-5 years’ related experience is required
- BA/BS or Bachelors in Architecture, Structural-Civil-Architectural engineering (years of experience will be considered without degree)
- LEED accreditation or working towards it is a plus
- Proficient in AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD software such as Chief Architect, Soft-Plan, Revit, etc.).
- Proficient in SketchUp (or equivalent software).
- Proficient in Drafting
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of, 20/20 or relevant 3D visualization tools. Along with Adobe Creative suite, etc.
- Some knowledge of Buildertrend Project Management software is a plus.
- Technical expertise with construction and detailing, strong understanding of structural engineering as it relates to design, familiarity with building code requirements
- Able to review and decipher building jurisdiction’s planning ordinances and regulations and design within guidelines.
- Must be able to prioritize and concurrently work on multiple projects and maintain deadlines, and a sense of work ownership
- Strong organizational, communications (both verbal and written) skills, and leadership abilities is required
- Must be creative, have a strong aesthetic sense and attention to detail
- Lead the production of documents required for owner, agency approval, bidding and construction; including drawings, specifications, project manuals, design narratives and code analysis
