Architectural Engineer

The Architectural Engineer is responsible for applying engineering principles to the planning, design, and construction of buildings. This role bridges architecture and engineering, ensuring that building designs are structurally sound, efficient, sustainable, and compliant with applicable codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to develop building designs.
  • Design and analyze building systems, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) components.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Ensure designs comply with building codes, zoning laws, safety regulations, and sustainability standards.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve technical issues.
  • Perform cost estimates, feasibility studies, and value engineering.
  • Review shop drawings, material submittals, and contractor requests.
  • Use CAD/BIM software to develop and coordinate design models.
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, and quality control efforts.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in CAD and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience with sustainable design and energy-efficient systems (LEED preferred).
  • Experience working on commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
