Architectural Manager

Job Purpose

Responsible for developing and managing Hafeet Rail’s Architectural Requirements, supervising and reviewing Hafeet Rail architectural design and providing expertise and advise to the PMEC and contractors during the delivery of Hafeet Rail Facilities (e.g, stations, depots, buildings), in order to ensure smooth workflow is maintained in line with the scope of work and established standards and protocols.

Principal Accountabilities Core:

• Manage and Develop Hafeet Rail's Architectural Requirements Specification for Stations, Depots, Administration Buildings and architectural signature for main Infrastructures Viaducts, Bridges, and ensure that these meet the functional and performance railway criteria agreed upon with the corresponding business units.

• Prepare Architectural conceptual design drawings, procurement documents, packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.

• Manage, Review, comment and approve technical submissions related to Architectural works (Specifications, Drawings, Reports, Material tests).

• Participate in the tendering process by playing an active role in reviewing enclosed technical documentation and contributing in the technical evaluation of bidders, in order to recommend the best suited bidder to be awarded the contract, in accordance with Hafeet Rail's scope of work.

• Ensures that Architectural works execution and delivery by the PMC/the Engineer and contractors alike is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, standards, codes and specifications and in accordance to the Engineering and Construction plans, Fire Life and Safety requirements, set budget, timelines and scope of work respectively.

• Provide advises and recommendations on HSE Aspects related to Architectural works.

• Identify and Define constraints related to Architectural design and works at early stage, establish the work scope, prepare the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.

• Participate actively in all interface coordination with other disciplinaries, Civil, System, Track, MEP, Landscape, and provide advice and recommendations where required.

• Participate in External Stakeholders Coordination and provide technical support where needed

• Provide site visit and inspection reports to Department Management and share the works status, comments end recommendations with other disciplinary Managers

• Remain abreast with the latest trends and practices in Architecture by performing on-going research on Architecture related technical issues, compiling findings and outcomes and generating reports mapped to cost and time effective recommendations.

• Participate with others technical teams to perform Conceptual Designs and Feasibility Studies and provide technical support (Drawings and sketches, specifications and quotations) prior to developing detailed technical designs, in line with internally established policies and procedures.

• Lead engineering workshops relevant to Architecture Discipline and provide technical training to better equip team members with the requisite knowledge, skills and tools to perform day-to-day operational assigned activities, in line with the Engineering scope of work.

• Perform any other duty assigned by Line Manager. Operational:

• Provide assistance to Hafeet Rail's other business units on issues pertinent to job function

• Participate in performing routine checks and inspections to ensure the highest safety and quality standards are being maintained if required.

• Take care of health, safety and environmental impact both personally, and for others who may be affected in the workplace. Cooperate with the company and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal and company requirements.

• Adapt to, and participate in, any programs/changes in Hafeet Rail including but not limited to strategic initiatives, operational initiatives and performance uplift tasks; conduct any relevant work that may result from these changes as an integral part of this job description and employment contract.

• Help support the Company in extraordinary events such as claims by contractors, dispute reviews and participation in arbitration.

• Perform any other activity as required by the company both at the company premises and remotely when requested by the company.

• Proactively seeks out information that is relevant to job role whether internally or externally to efficiently and effectively deliver. Remains up to date with context of the Company and the role within it to provide insight on potential opportunities and/or challenges.

• Contribute to the execution and delivery of any activities as and when required to ensure the continuity of work in the absence of other colleagues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Academic Qualifications:

• Degree in Architectural Engineering or any related field. Preferable Master’s degree Experience:

• A minimum of 8 years of Relevant Experience, namely in Railway Infrastructure

• Particular preference for relevant work experience in Oman
