What you bring to the table
Beck is seeking a qualified Architectural Project Manager to join our brand-new Raleigh, NC office. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a startup-like environment and wants to be part of building something from the ground up. You will play a key role in shaping our presence in the Triangle Region by supporting hiring efforts, helping create a strong and positive office culture, mentoring emerging talent, and strengthening our Higher Education portfolio in the region. In addition, you will be responsible for the full development and delivery of projects from Pre-Design through Construction Administration.
The job involves the following essential functions:

Work closely with the Project Designer to execute the vision and spirit of the design

Promote collaboration and integration throughout the design and construction process

Apply zoning, building, life safety, accessibility, and energy codes

Perform building systems selection, evaluation, and detailing

Understand and lead the development of project manuals

Manage documentation and quality control of documents on smaller jobs

Actively manage budgets, schedules, programs, project communications, documentation, and team assignments

Research, understand, and comply with Architecture practice statutes in the project’s jurisdiction

Manage project and professional liability and actively monitor for conditions that could increase risk

Mentor and train younger staff, supporting their technical and professional growth

Support the growth of our Raleigh office by contributing to hiring efforts, onboarding, and developing new team members as the studio expands

Help cultivate a strong, positive office culture in a growing market, shaping how the team collaborates, communicates, and delivers work

Engage in local business development activities, help nurture client relationships, and strengthen Beck’s presence in the North Carolina Higher Education market

Embrace a startup mindset by proactively building processes, identifying opportunities, and helping establish foundational practices for a growing regional team
Who we think will be a great fit
A reliable Architectural Project Manager will have the ability to lead all aspects of a project and guide the team through every phase with clarity and confidence. You exhibit a passion for getting things done and possess uncompromising authenticity and integrity. If you are an individual interested in the Integrated Project Delivery method and motivated by innovation, process improvement, and technology, you will be an ideal fit for this position.
We are especially looking for someone with:

Established local relationships and experience across North Carolina, particularly in Raleigh and surrounding markets, including universities, community colleges, design partners, and key stakeholders

A true startup mindset—approaching this role as if you are helping launch a brand-new office

The ability to build and shape a growing team, including identifying, hiring, coaching, and developing future talent

A passion for creating culture from the ground up, contributing to how the office collaborates, communicates, and delivers work

A desire to support business development and client engagement, helping strengthen Beck’s long-term presence in Raleigh

The capability and ambition to grow into a key architectural and design leader for the region, guiding vision, delivery, and excellence
You also meet the following requirements:

8+ years of relevant architecture experience w/ at least 4+ years of Higher Education market experience

College graduate with relevant, NAAB accredited degree

Professional registration
Physical Demands:
Frequently required to sit, stand, and move about the office; frequently moving outdoors may be required; ability to lift and carry large plans or boxes in excess of 10 lbs; frequently operates a computer and other office equipment; ability to coordinate and participate in client meetings; constantly communicates with project team and related parties; ability to maintain standards related to architectural design and production; ability to adhere to timely and consistent attendance. May require travel or co/location.
