JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Archives Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Library
REPORTS TO: Director of Library Services
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Primarily responsible for managing the physical archives and the digital content in the institutional repository for the university.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the digital content in the institutional repository (Dordt Digital Collections) for the college.
Collect, preserve, organize, describe and provide access to official university archival and historical materials.
Obtain copyright permissions for digital submissions.
Coordinate student employees, volunteers, and others who assist with archival tasks.
Serve as a member of the Library's Reference Team to provide personal assistance and development of instructional guides.
Develop and maintain appropriate reports and statistics.
Help develop archives policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.
Computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheets, Internet, and specialized, job-specific applications.
