We are looking for “ Area Airfreight Operations Manager ” to join our Area Air Product Management team as we are elevating Air business strategies. The successful candidate will play key role in management of Airfreight & Airport Teams at East Mediterranean Area & Country level while defining and executing Operations strategy. S/he will act as the focal for Pricing-Procurement, Network product development strategies, Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages and leads air freight teams across the Country & Area.
• Implements and executes the operational strategy for the Country.
• Identifies and constantly oversees key Financial and Operational Health metrics.
• Achieves budgetary targets by setting clear objectives and monitoring performance.
• Fosters export & import performance. Introduces Air product with business development activities.
• Ensures compliance with the company's global business strategy and local regulations.
• Collaborates closely with various internal teams, including Stations, Business Process Excellence, Sales, Tender Management, Regional/Global Gateways, Network Planning, Capacity Management, Procurement, Growth Enablement, Inland and Customs teams.
• Fosters a high-performance culture across the Airfreight, Sales, and Network departments.
• Harmonizes Maersk L&S (Logistics & Services) with our sector focus and promotes these services to customers.
• Directs operational and relationship management with airlines, Maersk Air, our Regional Gateways, Ground Handling Agents (GHA), and government authorities
• Leads key air freight projects in vertical sectors such as Pharma, Military, Aerospace & Aviation…
• Acts as a Partner for Finance Business Controlling units at Country/Area level.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Accountable for P&L per Country Targets
• Employee Survey targets (Employee Engagement, Active Leadership, Performance Enablement)

We are looking for:

• Preferably bachelor’s degree with around 8-10 years of experience in airfreight, incl. 3-5 years of team supervision.
• Deep knowledge of the air freight business (export/import).
• Strong background in project management and technical concepts.
• Skilled at making well-informed decisions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proven leader with a track record of motivating and developing teams.
• Possesses a strong commercial mindset.
• Self-confident and skilled at building and maintaining strong relationships with various internal & external stakeholders
• Open to travel
• Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
