Do you have the leadership skills to guide a team of loss prevention staff and help California employers create safer workplaces? If so, State Compensation Insurance Fund invites you to apply for our Loss Prevention Manager role serving Central California.

As the Loss Prevention Manager, you will lead a team that delivers onsite safety services to policyholders throughout the Central Valley. You’ll play a key role in shaping innovative approaches that reduce workplace injuries and support our mission of protecting California workers.

This position may be filled in one of the following locations: Fresno, Stockton or Bakersfield.

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise a team of loss prevention professionals
  • Assist management and senior staff in supervising, evaluating and monitoring the training of loss prevention staff
  • Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert
  • Conduct public presentations on occupational safety and health topics
  • Oversee analysis of program effectiveness
  • Assist with policy and procedure development and provide operational support to management

Working Conditions

Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.

Work Location Requirement

This is a teleworking management role that supports the Central Valley territory (Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Fresno, Kings, Tulare and Kern counties). Living within the territory is highly preferred to support travel within the area being managed.

This position requires regular weekly travel to assigned accounts, and occasional overnight travel may be required.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
  • Knowledge of California workers’ compensation industry
  • Knowledge of Cal OSHA safety regulations
  • Knowledge of carrier/broker relationships
  • Advanced certifications such as ARM, CSP
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to travel throughout your assigned territory on a monthly basis and statewide as needed
