The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales growth, managing the sales team, and ensuring the successful execution of company strategies within the assigned territory. The role involves planning, team leadership, market analysis, and achieving sales targets while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets in the assigned area.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to expand market reach.
- Lead, guide, and motivate a team of Sales Executives/TSIs.
- Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports to management.
- Identify new business opportunities and potential markets.
- Maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key customers.
- Ensure proper product visibility, availability, and promotional execution.
- Conduct market visits to understand competition, customer needs, and market trends.
- Manage distribution network and resolve any issues related to supply, stock, or orders.
- Provide training and support to the sales team for better performance.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in sales, preferably in FMCG, retail, or similar sectors.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
