Job Overview


The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will own and drive business growt h across the assigned territory by building high-performing sales teams and acquiring fleet owners, transporters, and logistics enterprise s. The role requires strong people leadershi p, execution discipline, and deep knowledge of Telematics, FASTag, and Financial Service product s to deliver sustainable revenue and market expansion

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Ownership & Revenue Grow

  • Own area-level P&L, revenue targets, and growth plans fo r Telematics, FASTag, and Financial Servic e
  • Drive aggressive business growth through new customer acquisition, market penetration, and expansion within fleet owner segment
  • Ensure consistent achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales target

2. Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop actionable sales strategies focused on fleet owners, transporters, logistics companies, and commercial vehicle operators
  • Drive FASTag issuance, activation, and usage among fleet customers
  • Promote bundled solutions (FASTag + Telematics + Financial products) to maximize wallet share

3. Strong People Management & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and manage a high-performing sales team including Sales Executives and Field Officers
  • Set clear goals, monitor daily/weekly productivity, and conduct regular performance reviews
  • Coach, mentor, and train team members on consultative selling, product knowledge, and execution excellence
  • Foster a performance-driven culture with accountability, motivation, and continuous improvement

4. Fleet Owner & Channel Relationship Management

  • Develop deep relationships w ith fleet owners, transport associations, fleet aggregators, OEMs, fuel stations, and channel partners
  • Act as a key escalation point to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
  • Drive long-term partnerships that contribute to recurring revenue

5. Market Intelligence & Performance Tracking

  • Analyze market trends, fleet digitization needs, competitor offerings, and FASTag pricing dynamics
  • Track sales performance, team productivity, and funnel metrics using CRM dashboard
  • Present accurate forecasts, pipeline reviews, and MIS to manage

6. Product Expertise & Solution Selling

  • Act as a subject matter expe rt on Telematics solutions, FASTag lifecycle management, and vehicle-related financial services
  • Enable team members to effectively articulate value propositions to fleet owners
  • Provide structured market feedback to product, operations, and leadership

7. Compliance & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with company polici es and NPCI/NHAI FASTag regulations
  • Coordinate with operations, logistics, credit, and customer support teams for seamless service delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience 5+ years of experi ence in sales leadership / people management roles
  • Prior experience in Telematics, FASTag, Fleet Solutions, Mobility, BFSI
  • Strong people management and team-building
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
  • High execution focus with analytical and problem-solving
  • Financial acumen and understanding of fleet ops

Other Requirements:

  • Comfortable with extensive field travel
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership attitude
