Job Description: Area Sales Manager – Gynae Division (Pharma Products)

Reporting To: Regional Sales Manager
Role Summary
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales growth, market penetration, and team performance for the Gynaecology product portfolio within the assigned territory. The ASM will manage Medical Representatives (MRs), build strong relationships with gynecologists, key opinion leaders (KOLs), hospitals, and distributors, and ensure achievement of sales targets while maintaining compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Target Achievement
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned Gynae portfolio.
- Ensure secondary and primary sales targets are met through effective planning and execution.
- Monitor product performance and identify growth opportunities.
2. Team Management
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of Medical Representatives (MRs).
- Conduct field visits, joint working, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure Territory Business Plans (TBPs) and daily call averages are met by MRs.
3. Doctor & KOL Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with gynecologists, infertility specialists, obstetricians, and KOLs.
- Organize CMEs, RTMs, clinical meetings, and doctor engagement programs.
- Maintain scientific, product, and competitor knowledge to support productive discussions.
4. Market Development
- Identify new hospitals, clinics, maternity centers, IVF center's, and potential prescribing doctors.
- Coordinate brand visibility, promotional activities, and sampling.
- Execute new product launches effectively within the territory.
5. Territory & Distributor Management
- Manage stockiest, distributors, and inventory requirements.
- Ensure order generation, timely supplies, and minimization of expiries/returns.
- Conduct demand forecasting and ensure adequate product availability.
6. Reporting & Compliance
- Submit accurate sales reports, field activity reports, and competitor insights.
- Ensure compliance with ethical promotion practices and company guidelines.
- Maintain all documentation required for audits and regulatory purposes.
7. Training & Development
- Provide ongoing training to MRs on product knowledge, selling skills, and scientific detailing.
- Identify skill gaps and develop improvement plans.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong scientific detailing ability and knowledge of the Gynecology's segment.

- Analytical mindset with strong planning and execution skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
- High integrity and adherence to pharma regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Pharmacy, or equivalent.
- M-Pharma or MBA in Marketing (preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience in Pharma sales, with at least 1–2 years handling Gynae products.
- Experience managing a team of MRs in a similar specialty is an advantage.
Work Environment
- Field-intensive role requiring extensive doctor visits, travel, and team accompaniment.
- Must be comfortable working flexible hours based on doctor availability and market activities.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹42,000.00 per month
