Your Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to lead the future of aviation safety as an ARFF Training Manager. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering world-class training programmes for Fire & Rescue Services personnel, ensuring full compliance with local and international standards including GACA, NFPA, and ICAO regulations.


The successful candidate will ensure operational readiness by keeping crews fully competent on equipment, tools, and emergency response procedures, while also driving safety awareness training across the wider airport community. A critical leadership role focused on maintaining a 24/7 aviation-focused Rescue & Firefighting Service (RFFS) capability in line with GACA Airfield Category requirements.


The ideal candidate will possess extensive operational and leadership experience within Airport Rescue & Firefighting Services, including supervisory-level expertise in emergency response, training delivery, fire safety, and hazardous materials management.


This role is part of the Fire and Rescue Services team and will be based in the West Coast - Red Sea, Saudi Arabia.


Key Accountabilities

  • Assist the Fire Chief in directing, leading and managing the RFFS at the airport and its associated personnel.
  • Ensure that all RFFS Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) meet all operational requirements for the Airport Category.
  • Required to be fully conversant with airport requirement documents and policies, able to demonstrate comprehensive underpinning knowledge and understanding of local/international RFFS standards and regulations (GACA/NFPA/ICAO).
  • Manage the design, development and delivery of technical instruction/procedures and training material for the learning and development of fire service personnel, in line with an agreed competency framework aligned to regulatory requirements that include ICAO Annex 14 Volume 1/Doc 9137, GACA, CAA and standards, such as CAP 699/NFPA.
  • Manage/Conduct audit, inspection and assessment processes so the Maintenance of Competence scheme is maintained and remains fully compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage development of the supporting framework for personal development and career progression of fire service personnel and provides technical guidance as required


Specific Requirements

  • University Degree in a fire/rescue related subject or equivalent certifications
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience within Fire & Rescue Services, including leadership/supervisory experience
  • Have held a position as an Airport Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief or Station Manager at an International Airport
  • Fluent in English Communication in both Oral and Written
  • Hold a valid light and heavy vehicle operator license in country of origin
  • Strong Airport Rescue & Firefighting Services (ARFF) background
  • Recognised aviation firefighting certifications aligned with GACA, ICAO, NFPA, FAA, CAA, or GCAA standards
  • NFPA-certified across firefighting, airport firefighting, fire instruction, fire inspection, incident safety, and HAZMAT operations/command
  • Middle East experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • First Aid/BLS and SCBA Maintenance certifications considered advantageous
  • Must be medically fit for operational duties
