Armed Security Officer (0811)

Job Summary
Sentry Force Security is building a team of experienced Armed Security Officers to service a client in Norfolk, VA. All work sites are located within the City of Norfolk. We are currently soliciting applicants to support all operational days and hours; specific schedules will be shared for candidate selection during the interview process. Availability to work weekends (at minimum, Saturdays OR Sundays) is an absolute requirement of the position.

Duties

• Report to your assigned worksite on time.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Respond to complaints and disturbances.
• Conduct regular patrols and ensure all scan points are checked during rounds.
• Report and document all incidents that occur on the premises.
• Maintain situational awareness and readiness to respond to potential security threats.
• Access control.
• Parking enforcement.
• Crime prevention.
• Surveillance.
• Alarm response

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant certifications in security or law enforcement preferred (CPR, First Aid, OC, Baton, de-escalation training, etc.).
• Must have a Virginia DCJS Armed License.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• 2 years of security, military or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Professional appearance and communication required.
• Ability to generate comprehensive field reports for client and internal review.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is a plus.
• Strong technological literacy.
• Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
