Are you ready to be a vital part of a dynamic operations team? Do you seek the flexibility of a part-time role with the opportunity to work from home? Blazar is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an AR Specialist.

Essential and daily functions this individual will perform

Accounts Receivable (AR) - Army ITES 4H Invoicing (Primary Focus)

  • Prepare and submit accurate invoices for Army ITES-4H task orders in accordance with contract terms and funding limitations.
  • Process invoices through applicable government payment platforms (e.g., WAWF, IPP, PIEE, or agency-specific systems).
  • Review contract documents, task orders, modifications, and funding to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with FAR and DFARS requirements.
  • Track contract ceilings, funded amounts, and incremental funding to prevent overbilling.
  • Monitor invoice status and proactively follow up on rejections, disputes, or delays.
  • Reconcile payments received and ensure proper cash application in QuickBooks.
  • Maintain AR aging schedules and provide regular reporting on outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate with program management, contracts, and customers to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized electronic records supporting all invoicing and collections activities.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Support month-end close activities related to revenue recognition and AR reconciliations.
  • Assist with audit requests by preparing documentation and transaction support.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Maintain documentation aligned with federal contracting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, preferably in a federal government contracting environment.
  • Experience invoicing U.S. Government customers.
  • Experience working with the Army.
  • Working knowledge of contract structures, including CLINs, task orders, modifications, and incremental funding.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Salesforce, and Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or higher).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • This position is part-time (less than 20-hours per week).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Army contracts or ITES contract vehicles.
  • Familiarity with WAWF, PIEE, IPP, or other federal invoicing systems.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS clauses impacting billing and payment.
  • Experience reviewing government purchase orders and contract modifications.
  • Prior experience in IT product or services contracting.

This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home.

Salary Band

$20-$35 per hour (Dependent on Experience) with estimated hours per week 20
