Precise Systems seeks an experienced Operations Manager to provide leadership, technical direction and guidance, financial oversight, and execute contractual obligations in accordance with applicable DoD guidelines and requirements in the field of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) Defense. The ideal candidate will play a meaningful role in maintaining existing operational support directly with staff, multiple clients, and build new customer bases in the CBRNE community. It is critical that any candidate has a demonstrated history of developing positive partnerships and working closely with staff from various disciplines and customers from both government and industry environments. The Operations Manager will also work closely with project control and security specialists to meet financial and security requirements/regulations, as necessary.

Duties:

  • Conduct and present briefing materials to Senior Managers and Government Stakeholders
  • Manage monthly schedule status reports
  • Foster positive partnerships with clients via meetings, discussions and/or weekly communications
  • Manage P&L of operation, security requirements, and contracts (i.e. concept to close-out)
  • Manage internal financial monitoring and execution of contracts
  • Manage subcontractor hours and costs, assessing funds, risk mitigation and associated management actions
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the customer across required schedules/reviews
  • Conduct personnel performance reviews, mentorship, work allocation strategies and talent development
  • Perform contract reviews and reporting to Program, Division, Operations and Group leadership

Required Education:

  • Minimum Bachelors in Science or Engineering discipline from an accredited university

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with DoD contracts, management, and related administration
  • Must possess a background working with multiple contract types: Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Fixed Price Incentive (FPI), Fixed Price Level of Effort (FPLOE), Time and Materials (T&M), Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), and hybrid contracts
  • Must be able to conduct and present briefing materials to Senior Managers and Government Stakeholders
  • Experience with monthly schedule status

Preferred:

  • Master’s or greater in chemistry or physical sciences related field
  • Advanced familiarity with smoke and obscuration research, technology and applications
  • Carbon fiber and coated carbon fiber development
  • Generative AI, Agentics AI, Advanced RAG, LangChain, LangGraph, and AI Workflow for research & development laboratory environment, project, and corporate operations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience in business development and capture strategies

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $74,985.65 to $142,478.47 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems’ total compensation package.
