Art & Design Store Sales Associate (Part-Time, Growth to Full-Time)

Job Summary

Jedidiah Gallery & Design Store is hiring a part-time Sales Associate to join our team. We’re looking for someone with proven retail sales experience who’s excited to learn the art + design retail world (product knowledge, framing/art handling basics, store operations). You don’t need an art background — we’ll train the right person.This role starts at ~15 hours/week, with the opportunity to grow into more hours and potential full-timebased on performance and store needs.

What You’ll Do

• Provide friendly, confident customer service and close sales
• Learn and communicate product details (prints, art pieces, framing options, gift items)
• Support daily store operations (opening/closing tasks, cleaning, restocking, merchandising)
• Handle and move artwork safely; assist with hanging artwork on walls
• Process transactions accurately and help maintain an organized sales floor
• Support inventory tasks and basic back-of-house organization

What We’re Looking For

• Retail sales experience required (ability to sell, not just assist)
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Coachable, reliable, and motivated to learn new products + systems
• Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-first attitude
• Comfortable standing/walking for long periods in a retail environment
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and handle physical tasks (moving art, hanging work)
• Detail-oriented and able to follow store standards consistently
• Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday) consistently.

Workplace Policy (Important)

• Personal cell phone use is prohibited on the sales floor (except approved emergencies/breaks). We’re serious about being fully present with customers.

• Strong focus and attention to detail while handling transactions and artwork
• Ability to follow store policies consistently (including no personal phone use on the sales floor)
• Calm, professional communication in a busy retail environment
• Ability to switch tasks quickly (customers, checkout, restocking, hanging art)
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

Schedule & Pay

• Starting: ~15 hours/week
• Pay: Hourly rate + performance bonus
• Growth: Opportunity for increased hours and potential full-time based on results

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
